Editorial guidelines
These rules exist so you can judge our content without reading our minds. They describe what this site does today — education and comparison — and what it does not do.
1. Understand the commercial context
Partners may compensate us when you follow an offer link. Compensation can affect which products appear and their placement. Read the advertiser disclosure and the provider's current terms. Educational guides explain comparison criteria; they do not claim a complete market ranking.
2. We explain the comparison, not a ranking
Instead of publishing ranked "best" lists, our guides walk through the comparison a reader can run: what an APR includes, how a fee changes total cost, how a break-even works, or how coverage should match. We state the limits of each approach. We do not model lender approval, and we do not list every product on the market — an omitted product is not a judgment about it.
3. Dates, examples, and freshness
Guides carry an updated date and an institutional byline. Numeric examples are labeled illustrative and are worked out so you can check the arithmetic; they are not quotes, member data, or guarantees. When a fact changes, we update the page rather than quietly deleting it.
4. AI-assisted content and illustrations
Some drafts, and some illustrations, are produced with AI assistance and edited against primary sources before publication. We do not claim a level of human review or expertise we cannot demonstrate. If you believe something is inaccurate, tell us and we will check it.
5. Corrections are public
Factual errors get corrected in place with a note. Spot one? Write to us via the contact page.
