Advertiser disclosure
The Capital Game is free for members because some of the financial institutions whose products appear here pay us when you're approved for an offer through our links. That compensation may affect which products we feature and where they appear on the page (including the order within listing categories).
It does not affect:
- Our editorial evaluations, ratings, or the substance of any review or guide;
- Your price — offers cost the same through us as they do directly;
- Our willingness to say a product isn't worth it.
Not every product on the market appears on The Capital Game — we don't list everything, and absence of a product isn't a judgment about it. How compensation and editorial stay separated is described in our editorial guidelines.
Editorial independence
Editorial content is produced without partner involvement: partners cannot commission, preview, or veto content, and writers' compensation is never tied to partner outcomes. Illustrative figures in guides and testimonials labeled "illustrative" are examples, not member data or guarantees.
Credit scores & approval odds
Scores shown are educational credit scores from our bureau partners; lenders may use different scores and models. "Approval odds" are statistical estimates based on profiles similar to yours — they are not a promise of approval, and applying always remains the lender's decision.
Security practices
- All traffic to thecapitalgame.com is encrypted in transit (TLS).
- Sensitive data is encrypted at rest, with access limited to personnel who need it.
- Checking your own score on The Capital Game is a soft inquiry — it never lowers your score.
- We never ask for your full card numbers or bank passwords by email. Report anything suspicious to security@thecapitalgame.com — vulnerability reports are read first and answered.
General
